Under 11s maintain unbeaten opening

Middleton Boys B under-11s kept up their 100 per cent start in the North Bury JFL B Division with two wins in four days - beating Radcliffe Juniors 4-2 at home and then thrashing Farnworth Wildcats 14-1 on their travels.

Curtis Berisford had sent Radcliffe ahead 10 minutes before half time but two goals in quick succession from Corey Goodey and Luke Anderson ensured the home team went in ahead at the break.

Middleton's dominance began to show after the restart and midway through the half they went further ahead thanks to a deflected free-kick from Oliver Clenorth.

And 10 minutes from time man of the match Simon Riley was fouled from behind in the area and picked himself up to place his penalty in the bottom right hand corner.

A late second goal from Curtis Berisford for Radcliffe proved only a consolation as Middleton held on for the win.

However, the match against Farnworth proved much more straight forward for Middleton as they hammered 14 goals past the home side.

Corey Goodey and Simon Riley put Middleton two up inside seven minutes before Farnworth hit back with a neat free-kick.

But it was one way traffic from there on in as Josh Gorton added two more and John Ezard scored with a 35-yard lob before half time.

In the second half it was all Middleton again with Bradley Ashton adding the sixth goal, Corey Goodey grabbing his second and Simon Riley scoring four more.

It was then left to Luke Barry, Oliver Clenworth and Tom Gorton to complete the rout.
