Leaders prolong winning sequence

BLACKLEY Alliance remained top of the Middleton and District Sunday League Premier Division with three wins out of three after an 8-2 win away at Higher Blackley RBL.

Langley Celtic kept up their unbeaten start to the campaign thrashing the Radcliffe Arms 7-0 thanks to four goals from Beattie, two from L Neville and one from D Neville.

Alliance FC stay third also winning 7-0 against bottom of the table Vasa FC who remain without a point. A hat-trick from Hampson and goals from White, McDonaugh, Bell and Hall sending the home side to victory.

Elsewhere in the top flight, Langley Rangers recorded their third draw in as many games this time being held to a 4-4 draw at home to Carters Rhodes. Zenzuc (2), Roach and Jones on target for Rangers and Matthews and Crowley with two each for the away team.

Dean Brook went top of the First Division on goals scored with a 3-1 win at St Clares with goals from Pearson, Joyce and Dillion. Brown with the consolation for St Clares.

Red Barn drop in to second despite a narrow 3-2 victory over Old David's. Walsh and Wilson's goals proving not enough as a Hutton brace and one from Owen earned the three points for Red Barn.

Meanwhile, Woodman FC climbed up third after a 5-2 success over rock-bottom Gardeners Arms. Goodier (2), Eden, Cassen and Worsell on the scoresheet for Woodman and Burton and Millward for the Gardeners.

Inter-Alliance stayed top of Division Two after the 9-0 drubbing of Middleton Boys who remain without a point at the bottom of the division.

And goals from Camp and Carney could not prevent Premier Autobodies going down 5-2 at home to Brunswick FC who move up to second as a result of the win.
