International honours for young trio

THREE young martial arts students won a clutch of medals when representing their country in an international tournament.
Warren Freestone, aged nine, from Middleton Junction, Dominic Terry, aged eight, and Matthew Clare, aged six, both from Alkrington, were successful in the WOMAA World Games in Castlebar, Ireland.
Blue belt Warren collected a silver, while brown belt Dominic and orange belt Matthew secured bronze in their events.
All are members of the Domana Elica Martial Arts Academy (DEMAA) and are pupils at Mills Hill School where Master Dave Terry, Principal Instructor of DEMAA, holds an after-school class.
The prestigious two-day international tournament was attended by martial arts competitors from all over the world.
Seven members of the Domana Elica Martial Arts Academy, which is based in Oldham, were chosen for the GB squad.
