Celtic take top spot in table

LANGLEY Celtic went to the top of the Middleton League's Premier Division on Sunday when they beat Radclyffe Arms 2-0.

They are now one point ahead of Blackley Alliance who have two games in hand. The Blackley team didn't have a game last weekend.

Goals from Beattie and Hall did the trick for Celtic.

How times have changed for former giants Langley Rangers.

A few seasons ago defeat at the hands of Old David would have been almost unthinkable, but it became reality on Sunday as strikes by Hallindor and McLaughlin put David in the driving seat. Rangers managed one in reply, from Strouger.

O'Brien and Worsley were on target to seal a 2-0 win for Alliance over Higher Blackley Legion.

Crown Inn went goal crazy in their Division One match against Old Cock. Hoolikan and Smith bagged two each in a 9-3 away success.

Cully did the trick for Woodman who beat Opal Builders 5-0 in a Division Two clash. Goodier and Lewis claimed the other goals.
