MORE than 40 awards were handed out when Middleton Harriers held their 26th annual presentations last Saturday.

The club championship trophies went to Mick Flatley and Ginney Willey.

Alison Holmes was the veteran 45 champion, and John Reilly took the veteran 55 title.

The trophies were presented by club president Jack Kirk, a veteran of 66 marathons who is still running at the age of 82.

He said he was pleased both club champions were from the senior ranks as it indicated the club was strong in all age groups.

The presentation night was held at the Clayton Arms, Oldham, and included a surprise Rocky Horror Show cabaret staged by a group of members.

The club is now running intensive training sessions on Monday evenings at Springhill Sports Centre, Turf Hill Road, Rochdale.
