LUKE Anderson was player of the match as Middleton Boys under 10s beat Pendlebury United 7-2 in the City of Salford League.

Middleton dominated the early exchanges, but they wasted several chances before Bradley Ashton drilled a low shot into the net after running onto a through ball from Simon Riley.

Three minutes later Oliver Cleworth ran from halfway, drew the keeper, and slotted home.

A third soon followed. Good passing between Corey Goodey and Bradley Ashton released Simon Riley who scored with a low drive.

Just before half time Cleworth turned in a shot from Riley to make it 4-0.

Pendlebury scored on the break three minutes into the second half, and again Middleton missed chances before Simon Riley pounced on a loose ball to score.

Corey Goodey added the sixth with a terrific volley, and Cleworth rounded off the scoring with a deflected shot after Pendlebury had claimed a second consolation goal.
