Thompson guns ’em down

MOSTON Juniors under 13s were paired in the cup with Marauders, last season's league champions.

They beat them by the odd goal in three.

The first half was goal-less, and Moston had to play into an increasing wind after the break.

Marauders took the lead with a speculative effort from 30-yard which looped over White's head and into the net.

Moston hit back five minutes later. R Murphy played the ball to Thompson who controlled, turned in a flash and played a great ball off to Eppleston.

He galloped into the box past a defender and slammed in an angled drive.

Within a minute of the equaliser Moston were celebrating again.

Thompson ran away from his marker and finished a good move with a touch of expertise.

White was named player of the match.
