Shaw is sublime in Club win

A SUBLIME 12-darter from Steve Shaw, the best so far in the Middleton Men's Thursday League season, lit up the match which saw his Middleton Con Club side beat White House 4-3.

Almost equal to Shaw's attempt, a 13-arrow leg of round-the-board came from Billy Skelton of Blackley Con Club who ran out 6-1 winners over Lancashire Fold. Fold did gain some consolation in taking the gallon.

Top of the table after three weeks are Cotton Tree. They followed up two 6-1 wins with a 5-2 victory over Victoria. They also top the gallon table, with three victories.

Woodman enjoyed darts and crib victories over Joiners in the Middleton Men's Monday League. The wins kept them at the top of both competitions.

Their closest rivals in the darts title race are Gardeners (Grimshaw Lane) who tied 3-3 and-a-set with Carters.

Millbeck's fifth win in six matches, a 6-1 defeat of Woodside WMC, has given them a five-point advantage over Apple and Pear who were 4-3 winners over Oddfellows in the Middleton Ladies League's Division One.

Friendship A who thrashed bottom of the pile Hebers WMC B 6-1 are a further two points away in third place.

Middleton Conservative Club enjoyed their first win of the season in Division Two. They beat Brunswick 5-2.

That result leaves Nowster A as the only side still seeking a first win. They were beaten 4-3 by Kenyon whose Vicky Gallagher struck a 171.

Hebers A are top of the pack with 35 points, six ahead of The Nook. The leaders beat Friendship B on Monday of last week while Nook won at the Woodman by the same score.
