Eight-goal thriller at Bowlee

26/10/2006

THERE were plenty of goals at Bowlee last Saturday when Abacus Media shared eight with Hooley Bridge Celtic in a Lancashire and Cheshire League match.

The visitors raced into an early 2-0 lead, but Richie Lowery pulled one back on 30 minutes.

Chances came at both ends but it was still 2-1 going into the second half.

Celtic increased their advantage soon after the break, but Abacus dug in and Anthony Campbell reduced the arrears with a well taken strike.

With only five minutes left midfielder Sam Brown scored an equaliser.

Celtic were awarded a last-minute penalty and looked to have snatched a win, but there was one more twist.

Abacus were awarded a spot-kick which leading marksman Nick Bracken converted to make it 4-4.
