Dynamos on the up

Alkrington Dynamos 2 Manchester Albion 1 - ALKRINGTON continued their climb up Division Two of the Lancashire and Cheshire League.

Back to back victories have seen Dynamos progress, but not without problems.

In a first half short of incident and scoring chances Alkrington took the lead when Gavin Booth converted after finding himself unmarked in the Albion area.

It was really no more than Dynamos deserved.

The second half certainly brought more incident as Dynamos created a string of opportunities to increase their lead.

The constant pressure finally paid off, but Dynamos had to rely on a penalty. They were awarded the spot kick after a clumsy challenge, and Adam Foster knocked the ball home.

With the score at 2 -0 it should have eased Dynamo nerves, but their failure in front of goal continued.

Albion managed to score in the dying seconds of the match.

The scoreline certainly didn't reflect the possession and domination enjoyed by Dynamos who will certainly have to learn that chances need to be taken if progress is to continue.
