Town make knockout progress

MIDDLETON Town made progress in the Rochdale Online Alliance League's AW Trippier Cup with a 2-1 win over Castleton, at Limefields.
Town took the game to Castleton from the kick-off and went in front inside five minutes with a well placed shot from Craig Matthews.
Town kept the pressure on to the 31st minute when the ball was knocked back into the Castleton area, after a couple of clearances, for Anthony Burton to score Town's second.
Castleton got themselves back into the game on 60 minutes with a well-taken goal from Wesley Gledhill after a mistake by the Town defence.
Town went down to 10 men after a second bookable, but they held on to win.
