Academy hosts boxing camp

MORE than 50 youngsters from all over the country attended an Amateur Boxing Association camp held at the Hopwood Hall Boxing Academy.
Under the guidance of north west counties regional coach Martin Ventre the athletes were treated to a feast of boxing and team leadership activities.
The highlights of the week were visits by Ricky Hatton and Amir Khan who gave expert advice, signed autographs and posed for photos with all of the youngsters.
The Academy is running a similar camp this week for girls in the senior national squad who are preparing for the European championships.
