DARTS: THE Middleton Men's Monday League finals produced some fantastic matches.
The pairs contest saw a nip and tuck clash between Woodman's Darren Dewar and Steve Round and Joiners' duo Andy Slattery and Kenny Rick.
It went to a deciding fifth leg which was so close that had Dewar hit the bull with one of two darts on offer he and round would have been crowned champions.
As it was the Joiners' pair took the honours.
They had beaten Tony Jones and Ray Sidlow (Carters) in the semi-finals. Dewar and Round had got the better of Eugene Goan and Arthur Jones (Joiners).
The individual final was a repeat of last year's, and it gave Dewar a chance to exact revenge on Round.
Dewar ran out a 3-2 winner.
Both semi-finals had gone to three legs. Dewar beat Ray Sidlow (Carters) and Round beat John Mulholland (Gardeners, Sandy Lane).
