Harriers celebrate Jubilee year

MIDDLETON Harriers celebrated their Silver Jubilee in style on Saturday with a presentation dinner attended by founder member Roger Colson.
More than 100 athletes and their guests attended the dinner at the Clayton Arms Banqueting Suite in Oldham.
Roger, and club president Jack Kirk, presented trophies and awards which had been competed for throughout the year.
They were assisted by club chairman Roy Lee and secretary Peter Gilligan.
Club Champions for the 2005 season were Mick Flatley and Kyrinda Hurst-Moore.
A surprise after-dinner cabaret was provided by runners from the ladies' section, under the guidance of dance director Julie Kennedy
The club was founded 25 years ago as Middleton Health and Fitness Club which subsequently became Middleton Running Club.
During its quarter century existence the club has provided international runners for Marathons and "Iron Man" triathlons.
