Rangers are held in a six-goal thriller

MIDDLETON Rangers under 12s shared six goals with Springhead.

Rangers made the better start, with Luke Mason causing problems for the Springhead defence which conceded an early penalty. Peter Paphitis made no mistake from the spot.

Springhead then got more into the game and bagged a deserved equaliser, but Rangers responded well with Grant Wardle and Levi Morris in control in midfield.

Half time was only two minutes away when Springhead took the lead after Rangers had failed to deal with a long ball.

Rangers bounced back in the second half. Thomas Brookes started running at the Springhead defence and scored two good goals.

Good defending by Joshua Donnelly, Arron Duff, Luke Frazer and Jakobi Blackburn then kept Springhead out until 10 minutes from time when they notched an equaliser.

The last 10 minutes were all Rangers and Springhead keeper Jamie Patterson had to make two fantastic saves from Thomas Boden and Luke Mason.
