MANCHESTER YFC took on Moston Valley at Broadhurst playing fields on Sunday where they maintained their 100 per cent record in comfortable style.

Both teams are new to the Manchester Youth League and have very different agendas for the season. The difference between the two was evident from the off.

The Manchester YFC boys, top of the division, quickly taking control against opponents at the bottom of the table. Goals were inevitable as Manchester, playing the fluent brand of football which has delivered some 48 goals in their opening seven games, took on a Moston team which had conceded 70 in five games.

First half strikes from Ismet Akoya (5), Mark Stringer (4) and Curtis Buckley made the score 10-0 by the break.

The second half continued the theme as Manchester remained focused despite the result being in the bag.

More goals came their way as Mark reeves struck a hat-trick while Sam Freakes, Danny Kendrick, Jake Hardicre, Ben McLean, Barry Davies, Josh Parkinson, Barry Foster and John Buckley got their names on the scoresheet.

Moston, to their credit, scrapped for every ball throughout the game and never let their heads sink.
