MOSTON'S newest community junior football team kicked off the season with a Dads v Lads fundraising event.
Moston Rangers FC were established in August and their new adventure in the Bury and Radcliffe League has seen them hold their own. They are now in fifth spot.
The under 14s club is based at Moston Lane East, and officials place a high emphasis on discipline.
Players who are caught swearing, breaking club rules, turning up late for training or showing poor conduct towards referees and other players may find themselves being suspended.
Rangers' league games to date have seen them notch two wins and a draw, with 18 goals scored.
The youngsters won the fundraising match by the odd goal in 15.
Club secretary John Nolan said: "I think it is important to make people aware that community spirit is still going strong, and that dads and lads still do things together.
"Unfortunately, most of the dads were a little worse for wear the day after the match."
