ALKRINGTON crashed 8-2 to Darcy Lever on Sunday and skipper Mark Holden had no qualms about the outcome.
He and Steve Whitehead were Alkrington's only winners. Whitehead hit a 180 and Holden took out 148 in a 15-darter and 104 in an 18-dart leg of 501.
Holden said: "We can't complain. The better side won on the day, but remember, it is still a learning experience for a lot of our players."
Holden's Apple and Pear team beat Joiners 4-3 last week to stay top of the Middleton Men's Monday League.
They head Junction who were 5-2 winners over Carters, and Gardeners who beat Victoria by the same score.
