Boys keep up the good work

MIDDLETON Boys under 12s enjoyed a midweek win over Heywood Rangers with goals from player of the match Dominic Murphy, Derren Lycett (3), Joe Rogers, Jason Slowe, Ryan Murphy, Dan Fadil.

The Boys faced Moorside Rangers at the weekend in a top-of-the-table match which ended 0-0. Middleton Boys under 14s are looking for new players. If you are interested call Anthony Hoolikin on 07956 852987 or email middletonboys@ntlworld.com.

Middleton Juniors fell a goal behind in their away match at Heyside but came back to win 2-1 with a brace from Sean Ryder after the Middleton back four of Seddon, Murray, Wright and McGovern took control.

Middleton Colts under 14s beat Wardle 6-0 with a hat-trick from Richard Fitton, a 20-yard half volley from Danny Burgyone and two second-half goals from Sam Vines and Matthew Kosylo. Man of the match was Grant Jones.

Clayton under sevens continued their promising start to the season with a solid victory over Gorse Hill on Saturday. Clayton had goalkeeper Michael Collantine to thank for a goalless half in which he made several good saves.

Clayton took the lead early in the second half following a long throw-in from Gabriel Dare which was buried in the bottom corner by Morgan DeCourcy. Conner Mallon's pass set DeCourcy up for his second to seal the result. Man of the match was Bradley Yarr.

Clayton under 11s produced a good all-round performance and some excellent finishing in beating Old Trafford Juniors 9-4. Goalscorers were Aaron Heaps, Ryan Sheppard, Joe Borkin (2), Faye Boothroyd, Niall Cullen and hat-trick hero David Brown.

The under 14s beat Mossley 7-1 with goals from James Denton (2), Aaron steward (2) and Niall White (3). Man of the match was captain Ben Porter.
