Boost for darts team

THE Greater Manchester Super League Division Two title race took a turn for the better on Sunday as far as Alkrington were concerned - and they didn't even play.

Little Hulton beat fancied Rochdale Borough 5-2 to leave Borough and Alkrington level on points at the top of the table with one match left to play.

Alkrington were due to play that match last night against Walkden. Rochdale take on Chadderton on Sunday.

If the teams finish level on points the title will be determined by legs difference, and the top two were level on that score after Sunday.

The annual general meeting of the Middleton Thursday Men's League will be held at the Oddfellows next Wednesday, start 8.30pm.
