Pacey sparks fightback

ALKRINGTON hit back from two sets down to beat Walkden at the Apple and Pear on Sunday.

It was their second win in four outings this summer.

Mark Holden hit two 180s and a 15-darter but encountered double trouble in the other legs and lost to Wayne Merrick by the odd leg in five.

When Carl Langley went down 3-0 to Walkden skipper Alan Hodgson things looked bleak for Alkrington.

But Steve Pacey, who included a 180 in a 17-darter, won 3-2 to set the ball rolling.

Matt Langley put Alkrington level and the wins continued.

Jimmy Phillips hit nine three-figure scores, Steve Service hit a nifty 16-darter, and Mick Milner completed the 5-2 win which moved Alkrington up to third place in the Greater Manchester Super League Division Two.
