THE House Championship, last event of the season in the Middleton Men's Thursday League, was held last week at the Kings Arms.
The individual champions from each team were in action.
Ian Slattery (Woodside WMC) got the better of Steve Shaw (Kings) 2-0, while Phil Benson (Oddfellows A) beat White Hart hot-shot Mike Bamber by the same score.
An expected close final didn't materialise as Benson won 3-0.
Alkrington will be in Greater Manchester Super League action on Sunday when they entertain Second Division rivals Walkden.
The match is at the Apple and Pear, start 12.30pm.
It will be the fourth outing for the newly formed team which has won one and lost two.
Apple and Pear licensee Mark Holden won through from a good field to qualify for the Las Vegas Desert Classic last weekend.
But he was unlucky to draw eventual winner Phil Taylor in the first round of the big one.
Twelve-times world champion Taylor won 2-0.
Holden had a commendable 88.58 average, while Taylor averaged 103.62.
