MANCHESTER Golf Club's Rachel Connor has confirmed her status as one of England's leading young players.
She gave a stunning performance for Lancashire during the Northern Counties match week at West Lancashire Golf Club, winning all of her six matches against top opposition.
The event is the centrepiece of the women's county season in the north, and the 14-year-old expected to play only a bit part.
But, much to her surprise, she was selected for all six matches and she didn't disappoint.
Rachel won five of them six and four and took the sixth one up.
On Monday the four-handicapper won the Lancashire Schools' under 15 championship at Lytham Green Drive.
She shot a four over gross to take the title for the third year running.
Rachel is the daughter of Manchester GC professional Brian Connor.
