Round The Boards

BARRY Venison hit a superb 15-darter last week to help his Joiners team beat Cotton Tree 6-1 in the Middleton Men's Thursday League.

Joiners are fourth in the table on 99 points, five fewer than second placed Boarshaw WMC who are only half a point ahead of Woodside WMC.

Boarshaw WMC beat White Hart 5-2 while Woodside defeated Pleasant by the odd game in seven.

Top of the table, by a resounding 16 points, are Kings Arms who had an open date.

Kings are also in contention for the Gallon title. They trail Pleasant by a point but have a match in hand. Cotton Tree are third, five points adrift of Kings.

Oddfellows B prop up the main table. They are three points behind Catholic Club and have played a game more. They are also joint bottom of the Gallon.
