MANCHESTER YFC won a six-a-side tournament organised by Radcliffe Juniors.

The Middleton based team began impressively by beating Little Lever 4-0 with goals from Ben McLean (3) and Osahon Osawe.

Roach Dynamos were next up and Manchester won 3-0 thanks to goals from Barry Foster (2) and Osawe.

Manchester were beaten 2-0 by Radcliffe Juniors A in their last group game, but they were already through to the semis.

Radcliffe Town were the opponents in a semi-final.

Manchester dominated but couldn't put the finishing touches to some fast flowing football.

Neither side could claim a golden goal in extra time and so it went to penalties.

John Buckley saved three kicks as Manchester won the shoot-out 3-1.

The final was a repeat of the Manchester v Radcliffe Juniors group game.

Radcliffe didn't really trouble John Buckley in goal, but Manchester also struggled to find a way through and it went to penalties.

John Buckley saved the first of the Radcliffe kicks and Hardicre netted for Manchester.

Freakes put Manchester in front and after Buckley had saved Radcliffe's third Foster made it 3-1.

Radcliffe scored a second, but Mark Stringer then won the cup for Manchester.

Ben McLean was chosen as player of the tournament by club sponsor Paul Parkinson of Kirkway Meats (Alkrington).
