Six goals set up decider

MIDDLETON Juniors under 10s set up a title decider for the last game of the season by beating Moston Brook 6-0.

A superb display of passing football took Middleton two points clear at the top of the Bowlee Mini League.

Middleton now play second placed North Manchester needing only a draw to secure back to back titles.

Scorers against Brook were Harrison Jones, Jake Coe, Dylan Walker (2) and Danny Allatt (2).

Andy Mitchell's controlled defensive performance earned him the player-of-the-match award.

Middleton under nines were unable to break through a strong Northside defence.

Hopes of the title were crushed with this 0-4 result, but Middleton can still secure a deserved runners-up spot in their first full season.

Middleton more than matched champions Northside in the first period, but they were unable to convert pressure into goals.

Middleton found themselves under pressure in the second period and conceded early on.

Unable to get an equaliser Middleton were caught on the break twice more.

The game was effectively over and Northside finished the job by adding a fourth.

Connor Wilson's energetic display earned him the player-of-the-match award for Middleton.
