Northend claim title with dynamic display

NORTHEND Boys under 16s won their league for the second year running when they beat Failsworth Dynamos 5-1 in a midweek match.

The scorers were Tom McCarthy (2), Luke Holmes, Mark Hendstock and Ryan Lewis.

The pressure was off when Northend visited Littleborough for their final game of the season.

Ryan Lewis replied to an early goal from Boro and Northend secured the win with two second-half strikes from Luke Holmes.

Northend meet Chadderton in the final of the League Cup at Mossley FC on Sunday.

Northend under 12s played three games in a week.

They kicked off with a 15-0 win over Chaddy Park. The scorers were James McMahon (3), Daniel Hudson (3), Max Harrop (3), Alex Byrne (3), Joe Malone (2) and Louis McCarthy.

Then came a 5-0 win over Chaddy Rangers, by way of goals from Daniel Hudson (2), Max Harrop, James McMahon and Matthew Clarke.

The third match brought a 13-1 success against Middleton Colts. The goals came from James Jackson (3), James McMahon (2), Alex Byrne (2), Max Harrop, Joe Malone, Sam Newall, Xavier Parisi, Callum Megram and Aaron Costello. Joe Thorpe replied for Colts.
