Four finals four wins for the boys

MIDDLETON Boys reached City of Salford cup finals in four age groups and all of the teams won.

The under sevens gave an impressive display against a spirited Moorside team.

Boys played some magnificent football in all areas.

Jacob Berry and Cameron Phillips played well in defence and keeper Matthew Skinner was sound between the sticks.

Bradley Cannon and Ellis Lees scored in the first half. The second half produced two great goals from Allie Jones, and Middleton ran out 4-0 winners.

Middleton under eights, who finished runners-up in their division, came up against the team which pipped them for the title De La Salle.

It was end to end. Sam Millington netted for Middleton with a lob, but De La Salle forced an equaliser and it went to a penalty shoot-out.

Three superb saves by Fergus Greensmith gave Middleton the trophy.

Joe Henson was player of the match.

Middleton under 10s beat Moorside Rangers 4-2.

The goals came from Jack Cotterill (2), Myers Neild and Jamie Makovecz. Cotterill was named as player of the match.

The under 11s wanted revenge after twice being beaten by Moorside Reds in recent games and losing out on the championship.

Middleton were well up for the challenge and quickly took a 3-0 lead with strikes from Dominic Murphy (2) and Derron Lycett.

Moorside scored late goals to provide a scare for Middleton, but good defensive performances by Aaron Turner and Joe Broadbent saw them through.

Turner was named player of the match for a brilliant display.

Still to come is a possible double for the Middleton under 15s. They are top of the league and in two cup finals.
