Harriers want new runners

MIDDLETON Harriers are on the lookout for new members.

The club, based at Hopwood Hall, celebrates its 25th anniversary next year.

Training sessions are held at Hopwood on Mondays and Wednesdays, 7pm start.

Those who join before December will get free membership for this year.

Harriers were well represented in the 25th anniversary race of the Flora London Marathon last weekend.

Excellent conditions on the day saw Steve Vasilou lead the Harriers home in an excellent time of 3:23:12, followed by Alison Holmes in 4:13:23.

John Brophy and Margaret Cartledge ran 4:56:37 and 4:56:51 respectively.

Gill Thompson made her marathon debut in a creditable time of 5:12:43.
