Charter honour

ABACUS Media became only the third club in the Rochdale borough and the 35th of some 700 teams in Greater Manchester to receive the FA's Charter Standard.
The Middleton-based club's secretary and first-team manager John Rees said: "Getting the Charter is a great honour and completes phase one of the club's long-term plan.
"We would now like to push on with phase two. That is obtaining our own ground and training facilities."
