Last Bash boost for charity fund
6/ 4/2005
TWO charities will benefit from the efforts of North Manchester golfers.
The Alzhiemers and Parkinsons Disease societies will share £2,130.
John Walsh, who was North Manchester GC captain last year, decided to use his year in office to raise money for the two causes which he felt were "Cinderallas" when it came to fund raising.
Raffles were held during monthly functions at the club and the fund was boosted by proceeds from the club's annual match between English and Irish members.
The final effort was a Captain's Last Bash for which a local entertainer and disc jockey gave their services free.
