MIDDLETON Harriers kick-started their fell racing season last weekend in the Rivington Pike event.

Julie Jones was first lady over 45. John Reilly, Carol Baxendale and Roy Lee claimed second places in their categories.

Middleton results for the three-and-a-half miles were: 48 M Flatley 21.02; 52 J Reilly 21.09; 111 S Carey 23.14; 129 M Betts 23.52; 188 D Ball 25.30; 238 J Cox 27.14; 296 J Worral 28.51; 315 J Jones 29.38; 336 C Baxendale 30.37; 361 R Lee 32.25; 367 I Limbrick 32.56; 370 F Lamb 33.29; 382 R Hane 34.44; 390 A Lamb 35.58; 393 J Pugh 36.46.
