Boys fight back after double blow

FOR the second week running Middleton Boys under eights dominated a match but lost by the odd goal.

This time they went down 2-1 to Barr Hill.

Hill opened the scoring when Middleton's defence failed to clear a ball from the right.

Minutes later a static Middleton defence let Hill in to score their second.

Middleton went close to a reply with both Mike Corcoran and Kane Andrews firing wide.

But it took a great save by Corey Goodey to keep Middleton in the game.

Kane Andrews caused Hill all sorts of problems as Middleton started to dominate.

But only five minutes were left when Middleton pulled one back.

A freekick from Josh Schofield was spilled by the keeper, Kane Andrews fired goalwards and Aaron Goldman tapped in.

Middleton almost got their reward when Andrews broke through, but his shot was wide.
