Beth is a golden girl for GM team

YOUNGSTERS from Middleton Gymnastics Club successfully represented Greater Manchester in the North West regional finals last weekend.

Beth Billington, aged 10, and Emma Dunn, aged 11, travelled to Warrington to compete against teams from the Isle of Man, Cheshire, Merseyside and Lancashire.

Beth's team secured the gold medal in their category.

Emma travelled as a reserve.

This success came after 10 members of the Middleton Club had competed in the annual Greater Manchester Gymnastic Association Grades Competition at the Dialstone Recreation Centre in Stockport.

Charlotte Doran, Sophie Lomax, Laura Cowen and Rebecca Chorlton competed in the Grade 5 in age competition, while Hayley Adamson, Emma Dunn and Hannah Boyle competed in the Grade 5 out of age section. All the girls gained passes.

Georgia Bartholomew, aged seven, achieved a pass at Grade 6 level. Beth Billington and Megan Grufferty passed at Grade 4 level.
