MIDDLETON'S Mark Holden won the Moston Open at Lightbowne Sports and Social Club on Sunday.
He came through a field of 156 to beat Worsley's Tony Green 3-0 in the final.
Holden took the opening leg in 12 darts with 140, 140, 171 and 50 game shot. He started the second leg with a 180 and began the third with successive 180s.
Holden, licensee of the Apple and Pear, beat Oldham's Terry Hey 3-0 in his semi-final, having beaten county players Steve Barrow and Kevin Simm in the previous two rounds.
Billy Corry was in good form when he struck a 15-darter to help leaders Kings Arms to a 5-2 win over Cotton Tree in the Middleton Men's Thursday League.
Lowly White Hart put a spoke in the title ambitions of Joiners when they beat them 4-3. Boarshaw WMC beat Pleasant by the same score.
The closest match of the week saw Tonge Bowling Club and Wilton tie at 3-3 and a set.
