BOARSHAW WMC moved within three points of Kings Arms at the top of the Middleton Men's Thursday League when they beat Railway and Linnet 6-1.
Kings were 5-2 winners over Victoria.
Joiners, who beat Tonge Bowling Club 4-3, are two points further behind the leaders in third spot.
Only three points separate the top five teams in the gallon contest. Kings have 21 points, followed by Pleasant 20, Cotton Tree 19, and White Hart and Wilton on 18 each.
Kings head the Middleton Ladies League table. They had no match last week and Millbeck B moved to within 11 points of them, in second place, with a 5-2 win over Royal Oak.
The race for the Division Two title looks to be between White Hart and Oddfellows.
Oddfellows sat last week out while White Hart were surprisingly beaten 4-3 by Hebers WMC.
