Boys crack in five to reach cup final

MIDDLETON Boys reached the final of a knockout competition by scoring a convincing 5-1 win over West End Boys.
Two unbeaten teams went head-to-head in what proved to be a pulsating match.
West End started the stronger, but Middleton held firm at the back with Cannon, Jackson, McCarthy and Eddie soaking up the pressure, helped by some brave goalkeeping from Theil.
Middleton took the lead when Vinny Howells delivered a superb cross into the box for Andy Parfitt to volley into the roof of the net. West End hit back and scored from a free-kick.
Middleton stepped up a gear in the second half and played some fantastic football. Anthony Hoolican, Conner Milne, Andy Parfitt and Jack Conway were prominent in midfield as Middleton dominated.
Hoolican scored two goals with efforts from outside the area, then McCarthy rifled a shot into the top corner. Niall Hogan wrapped it up with a solo goal to make it 5-1 and take Middleton into a final against Reddish Villa.
Conner Milne was man of the match.
