Rampant Colts hit nine
25/11/2004
Football
MIDDLETON Colts were rampant in a 9-2 win over Saints.
Yet again Colts took a while to wake up, and they gifted Saints a goal after three minutes.
Colts then began to dominate and Purvis and Landregan scored before the break.
Early in the second half Tom Gallagher extended Colts' lead with a fierce right-foot shot, but Saints reduced the deficit with a well taken penalty after keeper Craig Bennett had brought down a Saints' forward.
Colts went up a gear and goals came from Purvis, Landregan (2), Andy Smith (2) and Vinnie Taylor.
Smith was player-of-the-match.
