MIDDLETON Colts crashed 7-2 to AFC Clayton under 12s in a Manchester Youth League cup quarter-final.
Clayton took the lead on nine minutes when Ashley Borkin slotted home from close range after Callum Harrison had worked hard to make the space.
This seemed to fire Colts and for several minutes play was end to end. But Clayton's on-form strike force of Harrison and Fabio Abreu added further goals before the break.
Colts pulled one back following an excellent move which cut through Clayton's defences.
Clayton dominated the second half and looked dangerous with each attack. Further goals came from Scott Tennant, Borkin, and player-of-the-match Harrison - one with a freekick from the edge of the box.
Kris Fox marked his seasonal debut for Clayton with a strong performance in midfield.
