THE Middleton Men's Thursday League is only two weeks old, but only three teams remain unbeaten.

Kings Arms made it two in two by beating Joiners 5-2. Boarshaw WMC followed up their first week win by beating Cotton Tree, while Pleasant Inn won 5-2 for the second week running, this time against White House.

Reigning champions Woodside WMC bounced back from defeat to beat White Hart 7-0.

Kings top Division One in the ladies league after beating Apple and Pear 5-2.

They are six points clear of Woodside A.

Margaret Crompton hit the division's highest score of the season to date (140) in helping Woodside B beat Jolly Carter by the odd game in seven.

League newcomers Brunswick started life with a 5-2 win over Nook in Division Two.

Kenyon top the division on 18 points, one point clear of Oddfellows.
