Jenny honoured

BLACKLEY League bowlers paid tribute to popular member Jenny Webster when they competed for the trophy bearing her name on Sunday.

Jenny, a member of Millbeck BC, died during the past year and husband Brian offered to donate a trophy for the annual charity fund-raising competition.

The Jennifer Webster Memorial Cup saw 20 triples teams battle it out at Truffet Park.

Sem-finals: F Broadbent/A Tickle/P Duce 21, C Lowe/J Flynn/P Baker 14; M Carroll/P Carrol/J Hynes 19, M Heaton/M Doyle/A Doyle 21.

Finals: F Broadbent/A Tickle/P Duce 21, M Heaton/M Doyle/A Doyle 14.

The event raised £800, with more cash expected, which will be donated to the Christies Against Cancer Appeal.
