Pryce right for Thomas

THOMAS McDonagh will face the toughest test of his career when he takes on Welsh hardman Bradley Pryce at the Barnsley Metrodome on Thursday 6 May.

McDonagh headlines the Sports Network Fight Skool card with the second defence of his WBU International light-middleweight title.

The 23-year-old Collyhurst and Moston star will be looking to finish off Pryce in the style which saw him beat Bobby Banghar at the same venue in February.

McDonagh said: "I won't have to go looking for Pryce, he'll be there right in front of me which suites me perfectly."

"As soon as I unload and land the left hook he's going to be out of there. I'm unbeaten and I intend staying unbeaten."

Pryce, from Newbridge, is never in a dull fight.

The exciting 24-year-old has been involved in some terrific tear-ups against Gavin Down and Neil Sinclair, and last year he caused a major upset by beating the then unbeaten Russian and hot prospect Ivan Kirpa.

Pryce knows this is a cross-road fight for him and is threatening to upset the odds again.

He said: "I am looking forward to ending McDonagh's unbeaten record. He has never had a hard fight in his life and he will be in a real fight against me."

"Look at the quality of opponent that he's faced and then look at my record."

"I've got the ring experience and will take McDonagh to school on the night."

Also on the bill will be McDonagh's stablemate Matthew Hall.
