Rangers give the toppers a scare

PRIORY kept top spot in the BASSA League but they didn't have matters all their own way against Blackley Rangers.

Brian and Steve Love gave Priory a 2-0 lead but Dominic Studley pulled one back. Bryan Adams made it 3-1 to Priory only for Rangers to level with strikes from Peter Waugh and Adam Blagg.

The decider was netted by Priory's Jason Fisher.

Admiral aimed to follow up on their 10-3 cup win when they met the same opponents in a league clash.

They must have thought it would be easy again as goals from McCarthy, Smith and Marshall put them 3-0 up at half time against Radclyffe Arms.

But Radclyffe fought back to take a point. Their scorers were Darren Dunleavy (2) and Mike McElvaney.

Prince Albert were easy 7-3 away winners over Langworthy Lads. Thatched House were also away winners. They beat Premier Autos 7-4.

Albert were in fine form against Langworthy. Soy bagged a hat-trick and further goals came from Mallen, Seddon and Malkin.

The icing on the cake was a goal from Chris Lyons who had been out of action for eight weeks due to injury. Lamb Inn claimed their first win of the season.

They beat Priory Unicorn 4-3.

Jackson, Hadlam and Austin scored for Priory but Lamb pulled the game back and snatched the winner through a substitute.

Nelson cruised into a 4-0 half time lead against Ostrich, thanks to goals from Normans (2), Turner and Ellison.

Ostrich hit back in the second half. Woodcock, Adams and Bryant found the net but they couldn't squeeze out an equaliser.
