Fight experts get together

FORMER Olympic boxer Kevin Taylor was among the guest instructors at the Kiazen-Do fighting arts demonstration at Hopwood Hall Sports Arena.

Sensei Kevin Merriman of the Kiazen-Do karate club was asked if he wanted to organise a demonstration of karate for the open day at Hopwood Hall. He went one better by bringing together representatives of other disciplines such as boxing, Tae Kwon Do, Kubudo, karate and self defence.

Guest instructors and coaches included Taylor, Nigel Eastham a second dan in Tae Kwon Do and Alex Mason - the under 21 world karate champion. There was also the GB national demonstration team and Rochdale's national karate champion William Anderson.
