Northside nick a close win

NORTHSIDE beat Moston Juniors A 1-0 at Ten Acres Lane.

They were first to the ball in the early stages and carved out an excellent goal for Nick Arnaouti.

Moston tried to play their excellent brand of football but were denied by Northside who could have gone two up.

Mathew Dale and Joseph Pierre took control in midfield for Northside in the second half, while Michael Taggart and Ben Skaife were in command in defence.

George Coclan was just wide with a tremendous shot. Goalkeeper Nathan Keightley pulled off some class saves.

• MOSTON Juniors under nines B beat Chaddy Rangers 4-0.

Leading scorer Sean Corcoran opened their account with a fine solo goal. Dylan Wolstenholme made it 2-0 before half time. Moston piled on the pressure in the second half. Jack Neald and Joel Woods worked a one-two for Neald to score.

Wolstenholme made it four when he ran onto a pass from Jack Kershaw.

Defenders Adam Davies and Reece Gardner had to be strong in the late stages and goalkeeper Mark Campbell, who was player of the match, pulled off a great save.
