Ravens require girl power now

RUGBY mad lasses will get the opportunity to pass, tackle and kick thanks to two new junior teams being set up in the town.

Rochdale Ravens Women and Girls Rugby League Club is recruiting players for their new under 12s and 14s girls sides which will be coached by Great Britain star Wendy Charnley and former Lancashire captain Louise Green.

"The Ravens have realised for some time we need to start a junior section and with the tour now out of the way we can concentrate fully on this exciting project," said Wendy.

Ravens are based at Rochdale Mayfield's Keswick Street ground in Castleton and training starts this Saturday at 11am.

"We know there are girls out there, especially in the Middleton and Heywood areas, who have experienced the game in school and enjoyed it. We would like those girls to join us."
