Penny pounded by goal-hungry Hebers

HEBERS netted an incredible 15 goals to progress to the next round of the Manchester County Cup at the expense of Penny Farthing.

Worsley (4), Dale (3), Kilroy (2) and Shaw (2) were among the goals, with goalkeeper Grimshaw also finding the net in the amazing 15-1 result.

Cooke rattled in a hat-trick for Radclyffe Arms as they moved through courtesy of a 6-1 thrashing of RAK. Both Lancashire Fold and Alliance, however, were well beaten in their matches.

In the Premier Division, Langley Rangers moved four points clear of Radclyffe Arms following a 2-2 draw at St Clares. Ramplin and Hayes scored for the leaders, with Menzies and Lord netting for the home side.

Alkrington Dynamos and Carters both enjoyed healthy away wins. The former smashed Harbord Harbord 6-1. Williams bagged a brace. Dynamos routed Old David 7-1 to move level with them in the table. Lofthouse (3) and Poole (2) were the pick of the hotshots.

A Coogan double helped RBL to a 4-1 home win over Boarshaw Hotel. The win keeps them top of Division One. Second-placed Bricklayers remain in touch after a 7-2 defeat of New White Lion.

Gardeners Arms stay in mid-table after a 5-1 victory at Railway. Howard (2), Fitzpatrick, Hall and Campbell were on target.
