BOWLS: A bowls knockout for the Tony Holland Memorial Trophy will be played at Middleton Conservative Club on Saturday (16 August) start 10.30am.

FOOTBALL: The Corinthian Football Society is hosting its annual six-a-side inter-church football tournanment at the Armitage Centre in Manchester on Saturday 13 September. The event is open to teams of all ages and abilities.

FOOTBALL: Middleton Boys and Girls Juniors FC are holding trials for their 15 teams which range fro six to 15 for boys and under 10 and under 13 for girls.

Trials are also being staged for the under 18 side.
