Historic cup victory by Radclyffe

AN HISTORIC brace from Paul Crowther saw Radclyffe Arms lift a first cup in their 15-year history at Spotland Methodists' Bamford ground on Sunday.
His two second-half strikes secured the Middleton Sunday League Challenge Shield after a tight game against Oddfellows Arms.
The Radclyffe hit man put his side in front after an enthralling contest had failed to produce a goal for 65 minutes. Oddfellows fought back but couldn't make a breakthrough and Crowther sealed the match when he blasted home a second following a great run from Kevan Giblin five minutes from time.
Dean Jones was nominated man of the match for the winning side.
