Miserable weekend for the Moonrakers

MIDDLETON suffered a miserable weekend in the Central Lancashire League, with two defeats.

On Saturday they travelled to play Ashton and were bowled out for 88. Coles took six for 47 and Ridee took four for 45. Ridee then smashed an unbeaten 61 as Ashton knocked off the required runs for the loss of two wickets.

Ruvin Peiris scored 41 as Middleton reached 157 for eight in their Sunday home match against Werneth. Werneth reached their target with five wickets down. Fernando scored 68 not out, and Perris hit 55.

Middleton also went out of the Lancashire Challenge Trophy on Monday. They scored 189 for nine in reply to Crompton's 208.
The Moonrakers will be hoping to put matters to right this coming weekend.

On Saturday they travel to play Milnrow. On Sunday they entertain Walsden in the first round of the J W Lees Wood Cup.
